China Steel Association initiatives to promote China's steel exports

In the first half of 2017, the country exported 40 million 990 thousand tons of steel, a decrease of 15 million 930 thousand tons, a decrease of 28%; 6 million 800 thousand tons of steel imports nationwide, an increase of 340 thousand tons, an increase of 5.3%. Net steel exports nationwide 34 million 190 thousand tons, equivalent to 35 million 610 thousand tons of crude steel exports, down 16 million 950 thousand tons.

Jin Wei, President of the China Iron and Steel Industry Association, said that steel exports continued to decline since last year, mainly because domestic prices are higher than international prices, and enterprises' export intentions will decline.
